one of my friend, mechanical engineer......

got her first job in 1997 @ 35,000 as a mechanical engeering in toronto.
she then changed her 2nd job at 20/hr in 1998. recently, she got a new
position at 60,000.

The point is
: keep your major. insist until death. don't go for labour.

her case is : she had been idle for 6 months. but she only apply for
mechanical engeer job. her first job was like a shit== just a drawer.

her 2nd job was 1/5 design + 4/5 drawer

her current is 100% designer.

majors like: machincal/ electronical/chemical are all possible to find job.

in Toronto Star ( a newspaper), there are jobs posted daily. what you
may need to do is to send resume daily, and insist on. never give up.
and keep yourself away from labour jobs such as a dish washer..

wish you succeed
