what do you want to do?

At least, your English is not dumb. :-)

If you want to develop web, download
a jakarta-tomcat from www.opache.org
and intall it on your machine. Go to the installation directory and find tomcat_ug.html ---- this is the user guide.
Tomcat is a hot tool.

If your interest is software development,
you just need JDK 1.2.2 or 1.3. After you
use JDk for a while, you may download
a Jbuilder from www.borland.com or
a Visual Age for Java from www.software.ibm.com. They are good IDEs. It is a good idea to first use JDK.

Even you do client-server programming, you can have your Java clients and servers reside at the same machine. However,
if you use Windows 98, you need expand the virtual memery.

hope it helps, Jabber
