it is a good news for your getting LP and coming to Toronto soon. I think it is not necessary to open an account since you will be back China one month later. Well,if you have enough money and are not going to bring back China, you can open an account here and it is OK only with your passport. you should know when you come here next time,if you come with too much money,you will be placed a tax on your money(I have no very clear idea about it).As you rent a room here,I think it would be somehow difficult for only one month. As usual,when you rent a house here,you must pay two month's rent,one for this month,one for last month. I have no idea about renting only for one month. The rent here is about $350~$550(Canada dollar) a month. my room's rent is $350 and I share bathroom and kitchen with other. If you come with your daughter,you do better rent a room with bathroom,the price is about $500~$500(not basement).Anyhow, if you are going to stay here only for one month,it does not matter to pay for better condition's room. what I say is only for reference.
