Your weakest point is not important

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛FromZtoA, what is your weakest point?

It is a routine work for HR poeple to ask such questions. However, this is one chain in their screening procedure.
They need to kill 30-60 minutes with you. The most important
thing for us is to have a good commanding of some skills.
If you are confident, no questions are difficult.

HR people seldom evaluate your ability according to your answer to a single question. To answer the question you cited,
one should not take it serious. As you told HR people you always get worried about your work, you are actually exposing your true weak points. Of course, this is my point of view and
it might not be right.

My baseline in answering such stupid questions is to
give some likely stupid answers. For instance, here are some
answers I have ever used.
1)---Of course, my English, because I am not a native English speaker.

2)---I have many weak points so I never know which one
is the weakest. But I do know Java is my strongest point.

3)---My weakest point is my strongest point.

There are no absolutely correct answers. You never know
what those managers are thinking about. You can answer
in the way you like. But, don't be silly. Don't tell seriously the people your true weak points.

However, all the good interviews are established on the basis
of a good skill set and a good commanding of the English langauge.

Once I used answer 1) and the manager said "You English is
quite good". Then I answered "I am flattered." Here I have a question: What does "Your English is quite good" mean? Can anybody post a short Chinese translation here? Thank you in advance!更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
