Running 10K for the first time

I did my first formal 10k run last Sunday.  It wasn’t easy for me to finish it, but I did.  I am really proud of myself that I didn’t walk at all for the whole 10k.

I always enjoy running, but I am not a good runner.  I would say I didn’t train myself enough before the run.  I only did one practice 10k run before the event.  I could have run more often.

During the run, the 4k-6k part was the most challenging for me.  I had trouble keeping my pace.  I ran a little too fast in the first 1k, so my energy wasn’t quite enough after that.  For the last 3k, most people were all taking it easy and the route was not very hilly.  I was thinking about to stop running and to walk to the finish line.  I told myself since I already got so close to the finish line, there was no point to stop running.

I will keep running and improve myself, so I could run faster in the future.  Thanks to my uncle for running with me!
