OMG. Now even techsavvy start to play dirty. >_<

Hello 老顽童,

We’re writing to let you know that in the coming months there will be three changes to TekSavvy’s pricing and policies which will affect your account with us.

First, there will be a change to your Internet access service. As you know, your current package with us for OID7350xx is Cable 30 Pro / Cable 30 Pro, 30Mbps with 400GB of usage at a monthly cost of $54.95. TekSavvy is changing its pricing structure for various packages. Here is how your package will be affected. Starting with your first billing cycle on or after 12/01/2015, the monthly cost of your package will become $57.95. Your package speed and monthly usage will not change.

Second, as of February 29, 2016, TekSavvy will phase out its Zap The Cap service. Zap the Cap has allowed many of our users to voluntarily turn their capped plans into unlimited plans in exchange for accepting slower at-peak speeds. We are now phasing out this service and dropping the price of some of our Unlimited packages instead.

Third, starting December 1, 2015, TekSavvy will begin implementing a new Shared Internet Resources Policy (the SIR Policy). TekSavvy is changing section 17.2 of our Terms of Service to incorporate this Policy into our agreement with you.

The SIR Policy is TekSavvy’s attempt to get smarter at how we do things when the network gets congested during the download day. This will help us keep user experiences great and prices low. In a nutshell, TekSavvy will continue to provision bandwidth aggressively to ensure an uncongested experience, but will now also begin to take best-efforts traffic management measures if the network gets congested between 8 a.m. and 2 a.m.

Few users should see any noticeable change in their experience, and more users may see a positive improvement in the use of real-time applications in congested circumstances. None of these measures involve any rate-limiting or speed-caps.

Capped packages can choose to manually opt-out of this traffic management policy any time afterDecember 1, 2015 through myaccount.teksavvy.com for an additional fee of $5 per month. If you choose to opt out, the first $5 charge will appear on your next invoice, and will not be pro-rated for partial months.

Our prepaid service does not lock you into a fixed-term contract, so you can always visit myaccount.teksavvy.com to make changes to your service or call us to cancel. Formally, this means that the way to refuse this rate increase or new policy is to do the following: cancel your service, within 30 days of this notice. There is no cost, penalty or cancellation indemnity for doing so, but we will be sorry to see you go.

If you’re considering changes, please see our list of packages at teksavvy.com.  And, if you have any questions, visit help.teksavvy.com or call 1.877.779.1575 so we can discuss them with you.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
