Mariah Carey is breaking her silence about her much-publicized split with fiancé James Packer earlier this year.

Appearing on Ellen Wednesday, she ran through some classic diva topics with DeGeneres, like running late to everything ("I told everyone, 'Just lie to me'") and wearing diamonds in the tub ("They're not gonna fall off!"), before the host gingerly asked Carey about her relationship status.

"You were engaged and you were trying on wedding graduation dresses in the docu-series. We see the behind the scenes of that, which is pretty personal. And now, you're not together anymore," DeGeneres asked.

"Now it’s a whole friggen' thing," Carey replied, telling Ellen that she's doing well. "No, I am actually. Everything happens for a reason, things are the way they are."

She stayed mum on the extent Packer appears in her forthcoming E! series Mariah’s World.

"He didn’t want to be in the docu-series at all. And yet he’s in it. You see him," Ellen said.

"Allegedly," Carey replied. "It’s kind of difficult to talk about it at the moment."
