Khajuraho is a town at the heart of northern India.  About 1000 years ago, up to 85 gorgeous temples were built by the Chandela dynasty.

 

 

 

 

Besides the scale and architechtural part of these temples, probably the more surprising part to many people, including myself, is the erotic sculptures on these temples.

You may have seen some modern art pieces similar to this one.  Not really something new--a couple was hugging and kissing, while two other people were masturbating.  But think about that: it was created about 1000 years ago!
