As a key member of the Finance team, the General Accountant will be responsible for all general ledger transactions and balances, month end workload coordination, financial statement preparation and the full cycle of the accounts receivable process.

Tasks and Responsibilities

- Prepare journal entries, including the maintenance of an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial transactions

- Coordinate month end close activities and prepare monthly financial statements, including analysis

- Reconcile and maintain all balance sheet accounts monthly, including bank reconciliations

- Maintain Capital Asset database, including monthly depreciation, write-offs and write-downs and physical count of all assets

- Manage full cycle of Accounts Receivable, including billing, issuance of credit memos and reconciling Accounts Receivable balances

- Prepare monthly funding reports, including SR&ED, and maintain accurate supporting documentation

- Assist with Accounts Payable when required

- Assist with year-end audit, tax preparation and compliance audits as required

- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all company information, including financial information

- Create, refine, document finance processes and policies, and coach other team members on practices as required

- Analyze, review and maintain product costing
