In your role, you will:
Supervise, develop, and mentor a team of 2 unionized accounting employees.
Responsible for all financial transactions and month end adjustments including monthly and weekly reporting.
Responsible for all activities relating to collection of labour data for Local 112 employees.
Work with Operations to resolve issues relating to labour clockings and overtime approvals.
Monthly reconciliation of paid vs. costed hours for financial reporting.
Quarterly reconciliation and clearing of over/under applied overhead costs.
Maintenance of Departmental Organization table.
Support budget process for labour related activities. e.g. Updating labour rate table.
Achieving Excellence System deployment and support for the Labour Accounting Team.
Compliance and maintenance of OSC documentation and controls.
Work with both internal and external audit teams as required.
Lead the Finance implementation and integration of a new Time and Attendance system.
Support the Controlling Transformation.
Support Financial Planning & Analysis activities.
Lead and Support the Cost Accounting Transformation for the Toronto Site.
As our ideal candidate,
You have strong supervisory experience in leading and developing staff.
You have process improvement training
You hold a minimum of 3 (five) years Finance experience in a senior cost accounting role. Supervisory experience would be an asset.
You hold a post-secondary degree and/or enrollment/completion of a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA).
You have demonstrated strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills as well as being self-motivated and team-focused.
You have able to plan and organize work in a team and to manage deadlines and priorities.
You have a strong Excel skillset is required. SAP, Essbase, and Access database skills are a definite asset.
