A question: I always heard Canadian people say "thank you" in a rising tone while I used to say it in a falling tone. Then how do you think of it?

As far as I know, front-desk ladies like to say "thank you" in a rising tone.

Things are different for younger generation now. I saw a little girl of 6 said thank you to her mother for trivial things here in Shanghai --- it looks like a very natural response for her to whatever others do for her.
