相约北美 / 移民留学 / Could anyone tell me the salary level of postdoc with 3 years' experience? Is $35,000 sufficient for a 3-person family to survive in GTA? Is a 2-bedroom apartment afordable?
In the US, there is 4% increase of salary every year. Is it also true in Canada. Can I get a little bit more according to the working experience?
Thanks for any information.

it is a normal/decent pay for a postdoc, life of course is not easygoing, but given that salary, a family of 3in gta should have a not-bad life---from housing to transportation.
ask ur boss about any raise, if the funding is from project money, it is not unreasonable to ask for a ~3% raise to 'diXiao' inflation factor...

Thank you very much. I heard of the high tax rate in Canada and high rent in GTA. I also have to support my wife to get a degree.Anyway, one bird in hand is more than ten birds in the sky.

dont think ca's income tax rate is substantially higher than usa's. ur spouse seeking degree is a good/bad thing---your pocket money becomes less, but meantime the tuition u help pay can be calculated to your non-refundable benefits when u file ur tax return.
ya, rent is high.
