Happy Anniversary! 练习瑜伽一周年,特记之 :D

Last August I was feeling really down in my life. I was in search of something to occupy my mind so it doesn’t linger over unsolved problems and painful memories. I signed up for an unlimited Yoga membership and have been carried on for one year now!! I practice on an average of 15 times a month.

The physical benefits are easy to see after several months of practice. Joint pain and inflammations are gone; neck, spine and shoulders are relaxed and muscles are toned. Didn't lose much weight though.

As yoga guru B.K.S. Iyengar said 'Yoga allows you to find an inner peace that is not ruffled and riled by the endless stresses and struggle of life.' Practicing yoga enables you to achieve this by constantly exercising your mind. When you lie down in stillness, you empty your mind; when you inhale and exhale, you focus on present; when you move with grace, you raise awareness of your body; when you are in balance pose, you take your mind away from your body; when you bow, it makes you humble; when you meditate, your anxiety and worries diminish; at the end of each class, you feel grateful for what you’ve done, for what you have, for the energy and support you received from other yogis, and for life in general.

    • 恭喜周年。以前是断断续续练过几年,直到今年3月才开始有规律地练。往往工作了一天,人就极其向往在mat上的那一刻,可以让自己什么都不想,彻底放松。
      • 谢谢。我十年前开始练瑜伽的,每年最多三四个月,也是断断续续的,一直到去年才开始坚持下来的。

      • 我是练习热瑜伽的。I am taking hot yoga, hot yoga flow, yin yoga and restorative yoga. The last two are practiced at reduced heat.
