not only expensive to install but it is very expensive to paint. If you do not have a good painter, it will ruin it. The whole thing should be spray painted. Also, it is very common that the panel crack between the joint for the first year so you have to paint it/touch up again in the second year.
califonia shutter is outdated already. right now cellular shade is the trend.

All you need to install is IC rated pot light. A lot of led pot light is already IC rated so you do NOT need the medal box. If it is in second floor with insulation, you also need to add a vapour barrier, even for IC rated pot light.

My front outside: 8 pot light under second floor soffit. 7 pot light under first floor bay windows. 4 pot light under front entrance porch. Two wall light on both side of garage. Two wall lights on precast post.

One ceiling pedant in the middle of the 4 pot light under front entrance porch. When all lit, very very bright!
