    • From the text, you cannot get the conclusion that "关于黄灯....
Bicycle is more difficult to stop safely in the same speed as a car (let's say, 20KM/H), so it's absolutely reasonable for a bicycle to run amber light.
      • The text tell you: It against the law when you can stop and you do not stop. Hope our friend can win, but...
We all have experience when biking, we all know what kind of speed we do have, and how long we can stop. If you can't pass the intersection at 60km/hr, don't try it. You won't nesscerily win just because you ride bike or walk.

I fell sorry for the people got hurt, but I want say be careful it is for your safety and other people's safety.
        • It depends on how fast you are cycling. To my understanding you can always stop your vehicle, let it be a car or bike, safely. I cannot imagine why you cannot do so safely.
“the same speed as a car”这个前提恐怕很难成立吧。
          • It's pretty easy to reach 25-30km/h when you're riding a bike. In some downtown area you even probably run faster than a car. (!)
I had been riding to work for 2 summer seasons. I did experience those situations that I had to run the amber light. Panic braking is too dangerous for cyclers.
              • agree.
              • From my own experience, when I rode at 20km/h, it must take at least 20m for a complete stop.
      • You're right. One important rule of driving is that one should try his best to protect lives and avoid accident, even facing dangerous cars. So called "defensive driving".
          • Do you need somebody to tell you what is the time you make a turn or change the lane? You decide, but safty first.
    • What's the definition of "highway"?
      • Here you are
"highway" includes a common and public highway, street, avenue, parkway, driveway, square, place, bridge, viaduct or trestle, any part of which is intended for or used by the general public for the passage of vehicles and includes the area between the lateral property lines thereof; ("voie publique")
