Re: Unapproved takeover of long-distance service.

Dear Sir/Madam,

My telephone number is 416-xxx-xxxx. I became a customer of the long-distance telephone service provider Cable & Wireless HKT (HKT) on June 23, 2000.

Yesterday, I learned that on December 8, 2000 your company had taken over my long-distance service WITHOUT my consent or approval. All of my long-distance calls have been billed through AIC since December 10, 2000. I am very upset about what AIC has done to me. Since June 23, 2000, I have never granted any telephone company besides HKT permission to handle my long-distance service.

Based on the above facts, I demand the following:

1. An official written apology from AIC;

2. that AIC immediately cease acting as my long-distance telephone service carrier;

3. that AIC cancel all telephone bills covering my long-distance calls between the period of December 10, 2000 to January 8, 2001;

4. that all my long-distance telephone calls from December 10, 2000 to January 8, 2001 be charged by AIC at HKT's rate, which is 28 cents (Canadian) per minute for calls from Canada to Mainland China.

Your company's actions have resulted in a loss of my time, energy and money. Consequently, I am currently preparing legal action against AIC in compensation thereof.

This letter is being sent to AIC via fax and registered mail. A photocopy is being retained for future reference.

Dear Debby Wong,

This refers to your letter of dated January 18, 2001.

In your letter you mentioned that AIC employee called my home phone at 416-xxx-xxxx on Nov 30, 2000, and talked to somebody at this phone. The fact is that NOBODY at this number had received such phone call, hence the excuse you indicated does not stand.

I still feel disappointed because AIC hasn’t shown any sincerity in processing this event. I reserve the right of further legal actions.

    • 你这两封信有结果吗?我觉得,由于标的物太小,对方可能不会相信你真的走入法庭。这事我也遇到过,打个电话发一通脾气,申明拒绝向他们支付任何费用。对方认可并道歉。
      • 当时HKT告诉我, AIC的这种做法会被一个电信管理机构罚款, 大概是一两百吧, 至少AIC多多少少要亏一些. 我委托了HKT向那个机构投诉了.
        • 这样是对的, 叫HKT和他们交涉, 非法竞争是要被处罚的.
