Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller. The main responsibilities for this role are listed below.

Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation.
Work with GHD personnel to insure financial processes and systems are maintained in a sound manner.
Provide guidance and training for accounting staff.
Prepare periodic forecasts to update management on forecast results.
Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against budgets.
Interface with foreign affiliates to coordinate proper and timely financial reporting.
Work as a key member of the Company’s finance team to assist the Company in reaching targeted goals.
Assist Controller in special projects.
Prepares materials necessary for annual audits, and liaison with auditors.
Ensure that all balance sheets accurately reflect each legal entities assets and liabilities.
Review and develop existing systems, tools and processes to ensure internal controls are effective.
Maintain accuracy, integrity, and neatness of all accounting.
Audit and review transactions for correctness. Identify and fix transactions as needed and use discretion in the official committing of the transactions to the General Ledger official records.
Complete the Monthly Workbook and Variance Analysis, subject to Controller approval, and these reports must be completed on time per the Period End Process.
Work closely with other Accounting Staff on research and reconciliations.
Reconcile, research, and perform expense account analysis and UnVouchered receipts reconciliation at Period End.
Review GL coding on payment requests for accuracy before sending to Corporate Controller for final approval.
AR and AP.
Other Ad hoc financial analysis and suggest improvement areas.
Other duties assigned by Grakon Management.
Experience:

Minimum 3 years related accounting experience.
Work experience with ERP system (Navision preferred).
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Specific Skills/Training:

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Accounting principles and procedures and practices.
Ability to organize workload and establish priorities.
Ability to produce timely and accurate reports.
Ability to apply good judgment and discretion.
