Thanks a lot for your long reply. No, I didn't put all money into one basket. Though most of my stocks dropped today, this is the only one crashed.

I bought it for long term holding and didn't trace the market. When I found it dropped, it's already 40%, too late to exit. It's so hard to decide what to do with this stock. Should I forget it and wait it come back OR should I at least average down when it's less than $2? It's tough feeling ...

  • Samgyang & 木头, what happend with DPTR? Why it crashed today? Is it a good time to AD? Thanks.
    • Any suggestions?
      • initial gas volumes from one of its wells in the Columbia river basin was below expectations and has been deemed uneconomic
      • taking profit first for these kind stocks is important.
        • You are right. I didn't take profit and now it's a big loss. It seems too late to exit. Not sure if it's two dangerous to AD.
    • first, hope you didn't gamble all your money on this single one (like I said in my other post, you have to control the individual risk though the industry potential is good) ; second, please see inside for what I will do if I have some of it;
      1) don't panic; (sorry, should not say this due to may already paniced) , it down 40%
      think, it already at ~2.30 $, not so much space left down to it start price (which around 2$) ;

      2) whether you want to AD, I can't say yes or no;

      but, I wouldn't do that, at least not today;
      gamble has a limit; I would rather buy CMZ, WRES if still interest in this section;
      or buy other downed sections but not pour all your hard earned moeny to just one stock

      and yes, I have DPTR till so far, and luckly I use the split strategy as my post addressed; I have DPTR, CMZ, WRES plus more than other 10 stocks mentioned in all my faviourite industry; so it dramatically reduced my individual stock risk; if you have too many DPTR, e.g > 30% percent of your whole buying power; then you are gambling, try to avoid that next time if you learned this lession and woudl listen;

      but again, this is your call; your money your decision;

        • if I don't have I would already consider buy some of it after today's crash; it already back to around the ground start price 2$;
          sell it today or recent next few days should not considered as smart move;
          AD it or not, that depend on your tolerance of risk;

          but buying either other stocks in the same pack (industry) good or even just buy something else not in the same industry to reduce the further risk would be my choice; why keep gamble on something short term may go worse; there is always a limit on one stock that you should hold and bet;

          and, please remember that you never be able to earn the lost money back from the stock market; but you always can earn extra money from what you do on the next right move; they are tons of other chances there ;

          good luck; and don't blame yourself, DPTR has very high probably back to your price if it not above 5$ ; just be patient;
          • Great thanks for your prompt reply. I thought DPTR is one of the largest players for NG (judge from Market Cap), that's one of my original reasons. I dare not to buy smaller one, which could mean more risk.
            I am thinking that only large cap fits me, like BA, GE, BAC etc. Unfortunately I only have GE. Maybe I should be focused on the index. I am not the person who could tolerate huge wave.
