at recent filings by the CEO and chair of Rogers Communications (RCI) who have both been
buying. Although the company's stock has outperformed the S&P/TSX Composite over the past year, it has displayed some
relative weakness on a 90-day basis. Such senior executive buying on a short-term dip is a positive indicator, particularly
given the stock's longer term strength.

  • Nobody noticed RCI today? It maybe good time to consider loading smaller telecom company now, like MBT.
    • what happened to RCI? Why gap down so much?
          • Rogers’ share price dropped 4% on November 20 for no good reason.
Rogers’ share price dropped 4% on November 20 for no good reason. It may have
slipped due to concerns about lower data prices or imminent spectrum auction
rules, or it could have been due to misinterpreted comments about a potential
price war led by TELUS. Whatever the reason, none of these concerns appear
.valid. Lowest multiples ever. Rogers trades at only 14x NTM cash EPS, and 19x
fully-taxed EPS, with 50% expected EPS growth in 2008. Our $64/share target
represents 20x NTM EPS one year forward. Rogers also trades at a 7.7% NTM FCF
yield. Dividend growth should be substantial. We believe this is the best
buying opportunity on Rogers in the past year.

          • RCI(Rogers Communication)的头是Ted Rogers,本是他的私营公司,后来发展成上市公司。你所说的两个头是谁?可否说说具体情况?
            • TED ROGERS and ALAN HORN,不过我也不明白他们为什么在今天的消息出来前买,可能是为避嫌吧.
              • 估计他们也没想到吧. 他们买了多少?
                • 都上万的,我没细看

          Ted Dixon,
        • Canada's government plans to increase competition within the wireless telecommunications market
Canada's government plans to increase competition within the wireless telecommunications market by setting aside 40-Megahertz of spectrum for new entrants. In May 2008, the Canadian Government will auction 105 Megahertz of new spectrum. Currently, incumbent carriers such as Rogers, Bell Mobility, and Telus control about 95% of the market. New entrants would be expected to compete on price and therefore viewed as a threat to the incumbents where pricing has been rationale. Our telecom analyst had these remarks, "These rules cause no change to our forecasts for Rogers, TELUS or BCE, which already provisioned for a new wireless entrant. Some analysts who were expecting mandated roaming and tower sharing based on regulated rates, should see these rules as better than expected for the incumbents. Nonetheless, we believe Rogers and TELUS share prices may give back some of their strong gains of yesterday."
