No one can predict a bottom in a bear market. Stock market is based on faith. If you buy a car, you know it's probably worth $20K you pay. But if you sell everything Microsoft has today, it will be less than 8% of its stock market value.

So for stocks, none of them worth the money people pay for it. Your only hope is someone will buy your stocks from you at a higher prices than you paid for it. But if the faith for the market is shattered, everyone will pull their money out because they all understand the stocks worth far less than their prices, and the market crashes,

    • Have Canada's house markets reached the top? I think at least those in Alberta not yet, not sure toronto area.
      • Alberta definitely has being downed from the top for a while.

    • Worst case TSX can be down under 6500!!! That's a long term bottom in 2002.
        • It's still possible. from mid 2001 to 2002, TSX went from 11000 down to 6500.
          • Really?

      • Futures down 500. So Dow may open around that number.
          • If down -20%, that is crash.

              • How about those tech horsemen like RIMM, AAPL, GOOG, AMZN? Some of them will post ER next week.
                  • Me too. But the trend has been changed.
