    • In short, maybe we can say cool and hot? Just need more explanation. Usually cool things have some antibiotic function.

      • 总觉得用温度的词来翻译容易跟真正意义的温度有混淆
    • spicy/fatty and lean/low fat. 基本上脂肪比高能量比高都容易引起inflammation,就是中医的热性。
      • It can be vegetables/herbs too. e.g. chilli pepper is hot; dandelion is cool.
        • when you eat chili pepper, it always comes with heavy oil and salty. That makes you feel hot and cause your inflammation.
          • 读过一些资料,解释说一些辛辣刺激类物质会造成人体加速过多消耗某些营养(如B族维生素等),从而导致"上火"或炎症反应。
      • 还有含铁高的补血的及红色的(如牛肉荔枝桂圆红枣等)和富含生物活性物质的(羊肉狗肉等)一般都是温暖或热性质的(注:本人是不会吃狗肉的)。
    • I usually explain these types of properties of herbs and foods by using "cold", "cool", "neutral", "warm", and "hot".
