The current technology infrastructure is based on Microsoft .NET with ASP.NET/ C# for all modern systems. Legacy systems are developed in COBOL 400. Both streams of modern and legacy systems run of IBM DB2 database backend residing on an IBM i Power6 O/S400 server. Modern applications also interact with Microsoft SQL Server database instances.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ASP.NET/C#.NET developer with a strong background in building scalable, high-quality web applications utilizing Microsoft technology.
As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for architecting, developing and maintaining complex internal/external web facing applications. You will work with a team of experienced developers, business analysts, project managers and other business resources to build enterprise systems that improve and increase productivity for both our internal and external clients.
Responsibilities:
•Develop new functionality on existing application systems
•Participates in technical design and review
•Modernize Legacy applications transitioning them from Cobol to C# MS.Net
•Adhere to standards for coding, documentation and security, ensures that business standards are met
•Lead/mentor developers and share knowledge to grow the experience of the team
•Helps support the user community by answering policy and corporate system inquiries, correcting and solving systems issues.
•Communicates with members of the IT team on a regular basis and may serve as point of contact
•Responsible for reviewing code
•Creates and maintains documents as a part of the solution delivery process
•All other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
•University degree in Computer Science or Business Degree in Information Technology or equivalent education with a minimum of 6+ years related work experience (lead developer would be a plus).
•Four+ years experience in MS.NET / ASP.NET / C#.NET / ASMX / XML / HTML / CSS / JavaScript / Visual Studio / IIS.
•Two+ years experience in SQL/IBM DB2/MS SQL SVR 2005/MSMQ
•Deep knowledge of .NET3.5/4.0 Framework in areas such as WCF Web Services and WPF
•Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as interpersonal skills in order to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
•Strong client focus in order to work effectively with business users.
•Highly self motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
•Keen attention to detail, proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
•Microsoft certification (MCAD, MCSD or MCPD) would be an asset
•Knowledge of COBOL and POWER6 experience would be considered an asset.
