My stove is for butane, so I have to stick to butane. But I'd recommend white gas since it works great in cold weather and high altitude. The drawback is the whole set of gear is bigger than butane things.

You're welcome. Another drawback of white gas is, there's a "warm-up" stage each time you start the stove. There's some black smoke during this stage, because the stove is not hot enough yet.
