The Ad hoc Programmer will be reporting to the Manager System Development, Production Services. This position involves liasing with various business units, and responding to the specific ad hoc requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Liasing with various business units to obtain requirements for ad hoc reports or extracts
Designing, writing, testing, and debugging ad hoc programmes
Verifying results to ensure accuracy
Coordinating with systems operations to schedule jobs, receive output as well as deliver the outputs
Preparing documentation for future references
Participating in the administration / tracking of user requests to ensure all requests are completed.
The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities:
A sound understanding of (SAS) files and fields
Experience with Adabas Natural programming language, in a MVS mainframe environment
Basic knowledge of COBOL, JCL and MVS utilities
Ability to handle conflicting work priorities, and meet tight deadlines
Excellent organization skills
Good problem-solving and analytical skills
Good communication skills (written and oral)
Excellent interpersonal skills
