  • My experience with HSBC.
I used to have an account with HSBC, a Hong Kong Dollar account.  I didn't use it often, eventually it stayed quiet for a few years.  When I checked back, I found the money was gone.

There was about HK$600+, and it was all gone.

I went to a branch and ask them.  They said because I didn't have transaction for a period of time, they started to charge a special fee monthly.  It didn't take long to drain that HK$600 out of my account.

And this policy is clearly written in the long long HSBC terms and conditions...  (Hey, did any of you read the text of that kind of thing?)

I wrote emails to their managers and customer relations, trying to get that HK$600 back.  But they refused to do it.

    That's my experience with HSBC.

    • shake hands, and that is unreasonable. We once had 2000 usd dollars in TD bank, and I didn't use it for 5 years. When we planed to go to us and need withdrawing that money, the TD teller told us they charged us $30 for penalty,

because I put that money there and never use it for a long time. I talked with the manager, saying that all our money is saved here, and finally they weaved the penalty.

I think HSBC is ilegal for doing this.

    • same here
yes, HSBC is vicious. We had this US check account in US, and we didn't use it for a couple of years, and they simply cancelled our account without any proper reason. That's illegal. ..fortunately we didn't have any money left in that account. but still that makes me angry.
