  • One-at-a-time Stock Picker Contest. Enter to read the details -
本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Purpose: for fun, education, and, for those top pickers, bragging rights

    Rules:

    - Each contestant pick a stock each week; contestants will be ranked based on weekly returns as well as cumulative returns (compounded); results (Top 10) will be posted at this forum at the end of each week; full results in Excel format will be emailed to all contestants.

    - Weekly returns will be based on closing prices on Fridays; prices will be adjusted for dividends and stock split/consolidation, if any.

    - Picks must be common stocks (including units of investment trusts) traded on a recognized North American exchange, namely, TSX, TSX Venture, Nasdaq, Amex, and NYSE; NO preferred stocks, debentures, options, warrants, futures, commodities, etc.

    - Contestants who miss a week will automatically drop out of the contest

    - Each pick must be followed by a brief analysis (max. 100 words), preferably in English. This is to ensure: (i) contestants have done their homework (not random picks); and (2) the contest serves its educational purpose.

    - Each round runs for eight consecutive weeks.

The first round starts this weekend (10 pm, Friday, June 1, 2007). Please indicate your interest by replying to this post by 5:00 pm, Friday, June 1, 2007. The list of contestants will be announced shortly afterwards.

I will start a new post on this Forum each Friday evening by 10:00; contestants are to enter their picks replying to this post; entry open until 10:00 pm Sunday.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
    • Good idea. I know some people who are quite good at investing invest mainly on Mutual Funds and ETF's. Say, Jim366. How about both stocks and Mutual Funds?
      • I think stocks and mutual funds are fundamentally different investment vehicles; besides, there are technical complexities involving mutual funds (loads, MER, quotes, liquidity, minimum investments, etc.) that reduce their comparability with stocks.
    • No one wants to have some fun?
