  • I have a question about short selling ETF. All ETF's have MER, which means its value goes lower over time even the prices of underlying holdings are unchanged. Does this mean that if I short sell an ETF, I will get a slight edge due to the MER?
    • I guess you will not get any edges on this. MERs is short for management expense ratios, which is usually under 0.5 per cent annually for ETF. Better than mutual funds. But no money comes from the air
