A flight ticket is a contract. However the contractual right of this innocent passenger was deprived, in such a violent way.
I believe most of the passengers who witnessed that scene will reconsider their choice of airlines when they fly again.

Totally agree. If the passengers don't show up, they don't get their air fare refunded. The airlines don't have any loss. There is no reason for airlines to oversell seats.

Agreed, if they can’t stop overselling, at least they should re-build the booking system, so that the customers will be notified when the flight is overbooked, so he/she can make a decision to go ahead and take a chance or book a different flight.
