    • People with less education and lower socio-economic status are more likely to be obese.

However, based on the latest 2014 report from OECD (see link below), all education groups have seen an increase in obesity in recent years. In the U.S., for example, the obesity rate in the high education group is even higher than the low education group in Men. At the end of the day, it comes down to healthy eating and physical activity.

      • My understanding is that the typical food plays a key role.

For example, milk products are important when one is growing, i.e. under the age of 25.

But they are so high in calorie, if people continue the diet habbit, they can easily intake too much calories.

Also it seems the junk food culture in US is a main fator. :(

        • The key is not the food itself but how many calories are contained in this food.

In general, you need min 1800 calorie (for men) /1200 (for women) to sustain life. If you go over the minimum, you will need to find a way to consume these extra calories, or you will gain weight. It's that simple. :ε)

    • As an individual, your daily routine counts. The home CEO counts -- the one who prepares food for the whole family and the one who takes kids to activities counts.
