  • Food in Ecuador

Unlike Mexico, Ecuador is not famous for its cuisine.  There are still some interesting food.

This is my first lunch, seafood soup:

My first dinner, shrimps with noodle.

This tilapia should be wild-caught from the river.  It's BBQed in a banana leaf.  Very tasty.

This is the English version of a menu.  It does not help a lot though...  What's casserole?  or menestras? :)

This giant menu is high up front of a local eatery.

    Want to try this caterpillar?

    Here you go!

If you heard about guinea pig, this is the one!  The meat is very tender.

Sailor the great chef found giant prawns in a local market.  The garlic is for reference of size.

That's the dish!  Why I always found my own cooking is the best? :D

The last dinner from a Chinese restaurant.  It was also my first time to have so much veggie in a restaurant!

    • What a delicacy: caterpillar, guinea pig.......LOL
    • That guinea pig, looks very yummy, so does the BBQ’d fish, especially for meat-eating folk like me. Pretty surprised though to find out such a vegetarian dish in a Chinese restaurant. :)

Oh, btw, is that DIY giant prawns dish for sale? I’d like to have a bite. laugh
