IMHO, the power of religion should be limited to spiritual domain, not interfering with the life in civil world.

They’ve argued that they are not interfering other people by not showing their faces, but many Canadians do feel offended. It’s a tough call…

I'm wondering if they don't show the faces, how could the judge know that they are the authentic individuals to take vows?

Although she may win this case in the court, she already lost in the society. Insisting on wearing face cover simply shows how unwilling they are to join the big family of Canada.

IMO, this has more to do with their culture than the individual though, making changes to your own “culture” is always tricky and a very difficult thing to do. Hopefully, her granddaughter wouldn’t have to wear that thing anymore…

Agree. On the other hand, people of certain cultures are more adaptable. Back to 150 years ago, long pigtail, wrapping feet of women, kneeling to people of higher rank, all these were part of Chinese culture.

True, every class has kids who are slow at keeping up with their peers, we will just need to give them more time to adapt instead of kicking them out of the class…

If you look on the bright side, in general, nobody wants to be isolated from the society, they will have to adapt eventually, it might not happen to this woman herself, but I believe it will, to her next generations.
