Obviously, the traditional Chinese culture focuses a lot on family relationships, that's why there are so many distinguishing terms just for a word "uncle". :)

On a positive note, learning Chinese might not be as hard as you think… there are no tenses, verb form never changes, and there are no plurals in nouns neither…
