Google?

比如 accept new patient, receive new patient。 receive 的第一页,没有一条含“receive new patient”;accept 的第一页,几乎条条都有“accept new patient”。值得一提的是,google “receive new patient”,有几条里面用的竟然是“accept new patient”。

无论是 google “receive new patient” 还是 “accept new patient”,第一页里都有一两条里面包含“take new patient”。

Google?
    • yiou got a good point, very meaningful for me, it makes great sense, thank you for sharing.
    • Google collects mostly unfiltered info mixed with good/bad and truth/false/fake. Dictionaries extract essence of hundred of years experience in human life. Learning English by confining to Google may lead you the wrong direction.
    • IMO, both of you are partially right.
It is not completely wrong to use "receive new patients". However, when doctors "receive new patients" they can also refuse to treat them whereas "accepting new patients" means doctors are willingly ready to receive new patients and treat them. Just my 2 cents.
      • I didn't say "receive new patient" is wrong. I only said it's different from "accept new patient". And when you ask 医生收不收新病人, it's definitely "accept", not "receive".
        • I guess 红卫兵 is the only one that knows English better than anyone else and the only one that is always right. But the sad reality is there is so much one doesn’t know or has never heard of…
is the only one WHO knows English
            • No. You misunderstood me.
好的用法字典没有接触过,但是dictionary.google.com 是我接触过的最好的用法字典。
      • good to know. I've never heard of it.
        • There are many things one may not know or has not heard of. But it doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
          • You're possessed.
            • You are even more so I guess. Did I write this (1785 bytes. #6205467@0)?
。。 。。totally agree with Toad on this one and google.
。。。?Google很有用。。。。youtube也不错。。。。那天俺在youtube刚打上how to。。。。 。。。
        kiss。。。。how to kiss排在第一位。。。。

After all the hot kiss would that be a sore
          A or sore M?
。。。? 。。。 。。。the wing girls继续上课。。。。
。。。真正expert level是。。。。
                • HA HA. Total straight and hetero. 大忽悠 is wrong I am sure. 沉醉东风 is proven a good girl.
                    • Perhaps you should GOOGLE. Holy Moly, I am not H&M, the Swedish cheap retailer.
