my 2 pointswhy Ann doesn't know anything about rent law even after she got degree in Canada?
she definitely can sue the landlord and they have to pay her all loss, including difference between old rent and new rent!
If you don't fight for your legal right, you can only be looked down.
Get a lawyer, and kick the landlord's ass!

one month advance notice is enough according to the law. I donnot think the landlord broke it; On contrary, I think the author delibrately mention this point so we blame the landlord. No landlord dare to drive the lessee away in two or three days.

But I heard that 3 UofT students got money from former landlord because the landlord sold the house to somebody else and asked them to leave. If you do have a lease or agreement, the landlord has to pay you.

It's nothing about respect. The landlord simply and stupidly broke the law!
