usually corporate reporting hires CA, not cga or cma

You got it! :)) I don't have experience in corporate reporting area but think it might be a good direction.

I don't think so. Experiences and skill set are more important than designations.

For sure. But CA is best even I am not a CA

Usually the manager is CA and the staff is either CGA or CMA. So there are chances there.

Not always, there are all all kinds of CAs just as there are all kinds of other "A" s.

Objectively assess your communication skills (professional discussion, report wriiting, PPT presentation, talking politically right always) and critical thinking skills (analyticall, think out of box, crisis mgmt) ,coaching skills as well as how much you value on your role in the social responsilbility before you move on to the "big and heavy".

My questions might be somewhat misleading. It's just potentials popped up. I switched from small company to big company year and a half ago. But seems the agent still values my hands-on and "knows-all" experience in small business environment.I am a little puzzled about why this kind of small or big company dilemma comes back to me so fast! :S

感觉是:拿定方向,Be patient, never settle for less.

If you go for a controller position, do talk to the finance team members if possible. The team's level of skills and team work style do make a difference for the future of a controller. The controller's relationship with CFO , VP Finance and/or the Treasurer is also important. You need to talk to them to get a sense before you accept the job.

You are right - all depends on the management.A small / medium size copmany's controller is a very important position, and come together with more responsibility than working in a large company. So the GM should take it more serioiusly to put the right person on the right position.

I agree. It is boring working at big company, but it is frustrated (somtimes) working at small one.

I agree with you.Controller is not an easy job, dealing with CFO, CEO and other dept.' leader and also need to managing the staff. In small company, sometimes, the staff in small company tend to have certain attitude and also the leader of other dept may not have university eduation. Excellent people skills is the key to survive. Controller, controller, don't become controll freak.

I have the same issue. I am the FA in a global company, doing corporate planning and reporting. Now a small company offers me the controller position, 15K more salary, should I go?
